DanVincent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkMe9MxxZiI Tl;Dr: A gaming youtuber named Ross Scott has joined up with some Europeans to try and get a new law made in the EU that will make it illegal for video game companies to destroy/remove video games you have bought from them after their support of said game is over. As in how Ubisoft removed The Crew from people's accounts when they finally killed the servers for the game. In order for this law to pass, they need about 1000000 signatures from EU citizens.
redacted_cat DanVincent sheesh there, that's a rough situation there, wild seeing some devs/companies pull that stunt
ducky Ok, signed, but I'm not sure how feasible this would be. But I don't have to figure that out either, so there's that. It may push games to adopt wider subscription or f2p based models, where they can argue no purchase of software has occurred.
Phen Signed this, I hope it works out. At least it'll force a response if it gets signed, and it looks like it's on a good track!
