I find the basic concepts of Godot and Unity are close enough that I can navigate the two, but Unity comes with so many extras (not to mention the huge store ecosystem) that I wouldn't kid myself that Godot is a drop-in replacement. But I do throw a few dollars each month towards Godot's development fund because I'd love to see it be the "Blender 3D" of game engines.
@ducky To be fair, I'm mostly using Bevy because of how enjoyable I find writing Rust over C++ or even Python. Entity-Component-System (ECS) model is also an interesting approach that I want to get my head around since I could see it as a useful pattern outside of just game engines.
It's the basis for my personal never-to-be-finished "game" project that I plan to use as a sandbox for whatever idea is currently interesting. In its current state its in the running for the worlds worst browser-based group chat. But that's a useful foundation!
